Young Artist Development

My Teaching Philosophy
I've been in music education for 25 years. First 12 years as a student myself and last 13 years as a teacher. Young Artist Development project was a reaction to what I observed was not working in the traditional ways of teaching music.

If we were able to travel to year 1800, we would find a completely different world. Anything from the language to architecture, fashion to life style. If you however, visited a violin lesson in the year 1800, you would be surprised to see how little everything's changed since then. A violin teacher sitting with his violin in his hand, metronome is running in the background, student is playing a scale or a concerto, you spend one hour in the room and the end of lesson...

Needles to say the young people of 2023 are different than those of 1800. What the world demands of a person is different than 1800..

The discipline of playing an instrument is an invaluable tool one can have. THE JOURNEY however to get to that level is the biggest gift you can ever give it to your child! My teaching philosophy focuses on just that.. THE JOURNEY
-----
My goal as a mentor is to nurture love of music in my students while bringing up their unique artistic self to the surface.
The journey to artistry is a life long journey that requires 6 main elements.
-discipline
-creativity
-practicing with analytical brain
-self discovery
-performing under pressure
-mastery of the craft

For an artist to emerge into the world, all six of these steps need to be explored and carefully nurtured during childhood years. No matter what profession they end up choosing in the future, perfecting these skills will help them see the world with the eyes of an artist and help them tackle down any challenge in life with creativity and discipline. It will also give them precise execution skills.
